New management announcement

Written by

After negotiation, deliberation and a few unexpected delays, we have closed on the sale of Dixie Motor Speedway to Mr. Andrew Suski.

Krista, Hannah and I thank each of you who have supported us over the past 21 seasons; especially those who we have grown close to.  It has been our pleasure to work alongside our staff in the tower or concessions, laugh at an EOD show with fans in the stands, rub elbows with sponsors and guests at their company picnic in the SkyBox, get a pic taken with the winning team at the start-finish line or greet folks in the tunnel as they leave at the end of a fun-filled night at “The Dixie”. It’s been a pleasure and we could not have done it without you.

It many ways this is a sweet-sour experience for us as we reflect back on many of the events, challenges and accomplishments over the years. But as we do, the memories all get down to one thing: the people. So, thank you.

Just as we did back in 1996, the new management team has its own vision for Dixie which will take it to a new level in years to come. We are very excited for them and know that they will do a fine job as owners/promoters going forward. Congratulations on your new venture. We wish you all the best.

Mike, Krista and Hannah Kern

Mr. Suski along with General Mgr. Michael Szukhent have determined that being so close to the first event scheduled for Friday, May 26, and considering the time it will take to get a number of tasks completed, they, along with fans, racers and sponsors will be best served by postponing the Eve of Destruction season opener until Friday, June 30. Stay tuned to the website or Facebook for future updates.
